Nebraska Catholic Conference
The Church has a proper role in
the political order and a responsibility to contribute to the public debate on
issues having significant moral dimensions. This role and this responsibility
flow from a Gospel mandate, from the Church's moral and social teaching and from
Her concern for the common good.

Pro Life
The teaching of the Catholic Church on the intrinsic dignity of
human life and on our own individual and societal duty to respect human life
remains clear and unequivocal. For all who believe and adhere to this teaching,
there is an unquestionable responsibility to generate greater respect for human
life than currently exists. Within a current situation of permissive abortion,
that responsibility is truly significant |

Education
All persons are entitled to educational opportunities that can help them
achieve their fullest potential. The Nebraska Catholic Conference firmly
acknowledges and endorses the critical role of parents in the education of their
children. NCC is an advocate for public policies which promote quality
education and parental choice, including the choice of religiously-based
schools. |
